The non-tenure track appointment may have a one-year probationary contract period with no presumption of renewal. However, based upon continued positive evaluations of the appointee, or sufficiently high experience and expertise when entering into the position, the position may provide or lead to a presumptively renewable multi-year contract. The initial salary range for this position is expected to be $90,000 to $100,000 for a nine-month academic year, but the precise salary will be negotiated based on the candidate's experience and on compensation paid or offered to professors in comparable positions at comparable law schools.

The contract is for twelve months, 9/1/2019 to 8/31/2020, the "FY20 Contract," starting when classes start in late August 2019 and continuing through the end of August 2020. The appointed rank for this search will depend on the successful candidate.
This posting is for a position at the University of Houston Law Center to function as a staff dean in the position of Assistant Dean for Student Affairs (“ADSA”). The position reports to the Law Center’s Associate Dean for Academic Affairs (“ADAA”).
The position has overall responsibility for ensuring that activities and projects undertaken by Student Affairs run smoothly across various functions within the Law Center. The position has particular responsibility for the following areas for Law Center students: student services, such as academic records and enrollment; academic support; financial aid; advising and counseling; accommodations and wellness efforts; student organizations support; and formulation for and compliance with policies and procedures related to student matters. The position will need to become expert in a variety of accounting, student data, financial and administrative systems used by UH and the Law Center. From time to time other duties may be assigned to the position related to student affairs by the Dean or the ADAA. The position has several direct reports and supervises approximately a half-dozen staff.
